DEFINITION
Mode is the most repeated value in a set of observations. In other words, it is the value with the highest frequency.
CALCULATOR
Enter the following details:
EXAMPLES
Example 1
Following are the marks of a student in 6 exams on the same subject
92, 96, 92, 89, 92, 94
In this case, the most repeated observation is 92, which is repeated 3 times. Therefore, 92 is the mode.
Example 2
Following is the frequency distribution of the marks of a student in 30 exams on the same subject:-
| Marks\((x)\) |
Frequencies \((f)\) |
| \(91\) |
\(1\) |
| \(93\) |
\(4\) |
| \(94\) |
\(6\) |
| \(97\) |
\(11\) |
| \(98\) |
\(6\) |
| \(99\) |
\(2\) |
The value with the highest frequency is 97. It has a frequency of 11.
Therefore, 97 is the mode.
